Myrtle Beach

This community is quite interesting with a variety of activities that one can pursue, depending on your personal preferences. From touristy sites to golf courses, and very nice State Parks and of course, if you are adventurous of a different sort, you can immerse yourself in the unique dancing style that originated in South Carolina, called "Shag Dancing" (Google it!). Someday perhaps, with the right partner. There are clubs that specialize in this dancing style, that goes with some great music from the 50s and 60s. Hmmm, no pics here. But my brother Bill brought me the mail.

Huntington Beach State Park is a beautiful place to camp and explore the region.





Saw my first Red-cockaded Woodpecker at Huntington Beach State Park, right at my campsite.

What a magnificent animal that is so well adapted to the varied extremes of its environment. This area has also managed to preserve its prairie dog populations, as well.
