Colonial Williamsburg. When the capital moved to Richmond, Williamsburg maintained itself in the 18th century, In the 1930s, the Rockefellers took on the incredible task of preserving this unique community and established some wonderful museums to house their collections of art and folk art. It is definitely like travelling back in time thanks to the interpretive staff who bring colonial Williamsburg back to life. Should be on everyone's visitation list if anywhere near this area.
