One side is painted to honour the Hamilton pilot who flew a Lancaster bomber pn Bomber Command During the war.
The other side was painter to honour the 75th anniversary of the "Dam Busters" raid that knocked out the dams that powered so much of the plants that produced products for the German war effort.

More pictures from this incredible museum that is staffed by a multitude of volunteers who spent many, many hours working on these ancient war birds. Many are still flying on a regular basis.

| Amazing machine for sure. |
If I had a spare $3500, I would have gone for a ride in this incredible flying machine. Capable of taking off with 20,000 lbs of bombs and nearly as much fuel. Each wing is 102 feet long and there are four Packard Merlin engines providing 1600 hp to get this bird airborne.
